I know that it has to do with media and family background but… shouldn’t there be a part of them that tells them what they’re doing is moronic at some point. what is it? ignorance? (and btw, i don’t think ignorance is bliss)
there are SO many kids who act like they’re “badass” or again… insolent and it’s impossible that..what…70% of the population of parents truly and HONESTLY fucked up their kids. i’m not against rebellion or anything because i went through it and honest to God, i’m paying for it now, but to be able to say it to the world and think it’s okay? and just WANT to say/do those kinds of things? like smoking, drinking, sex, etc, those aren’t things kids at 11 or 12 should be doing or talking about. what happened to preserving the mind of a growing child? what the hell happened to that? i understand that some kids mature faster than others but to say things like that jessi slaughter kid? if i found out that my kid was saying things like that i’ll cry. if i found out that my kid was listening to music like brokencyde, i would cry and be so fucking angry.
i know there are SO MANY rebel bands nowadays or even in the past, i mean come on, nirvana was one of them. but honestly, there is a HUGE difference between my kid listening to BROKENCYDE and NIRVANA. i have a friend who at 10 or is it 11? whichever… started listening to limp bizkit. but looking at how she grew up and how that bands really just slapped her in the face about what life is about? i’m sure a lot of ppl feel the same way. i personally grew up with metallica and at the age of 8, i liked enter sandman but i grew up fine because my state of rebellion wasn’t based on sex or drugs. it was more about vocal power and fighting for what i needed to come out of my life. of course sometimes, you commit mistakes but that’s not avoidable. you just learn from those even if it takes you a DECADE.
i’m just really wondering where this whole fad of being trashy started from?
i just think it’s unethical.
