why do people think i’m a “dork/geek” when i tell them i love to read?
it’s seriously not that weird… esp where i come from? and i’m not talking about being french or whatever.
yeah, so i walk around with a book in my hand. it’s really not weird to do that okay? it feeds my creativity and imagination and it teaches me some writing techniques. it widens my vocabulary. i feel like i progressed in life when i finish a book. i enjoy laughing out loud when i read books by christopher moore. i honestly love how i can’t put a book down when i read books by rick riordan. i enjoy reading the thrill of books by james rollin. i enjoy the insights and ideas i get from books by malcom gladwell.and etc etc etc.
disclaimer:
i hate ppl who say they’re obsessed with a movie that was made from a book but they’ve never read the book. EXAMPLE, ppl who go nuts over harry potter and have NOOOOO FUCKING CLUE what are in the books because you know what, if you read the potter books you’d actually love harry potter more. also ppl who claim they love percy jackson and the olympians but have NEVER EVER read the book. if you read the book, you’d know HOW STUPID THE MOVIE WAS AND YOU’LL WONDER WHY RIORDAN ALLOWED THAT FUCKING SCREENPLAY. i hate people who announce to the whole damn world that they love lord of the rings but never even picked up the books. you know what? if you actually read the Tolkien books you’ll understand the power of that ring everyone knows.
another disclaimer:
if you actually try reading Shakespeare books you’ll learn A LOT of things about life. that guy is a GENIUS and you’ll know that if you actually read his books. you’ll understand more why he’s one of the greatest writers of all time. i mean, come on, MACBETH is one of the EASIEST shakespeare books to read. do you know how many things ‘make sense’ in that book? hmmm.
